All Annandale Alumni Marching Band Members,

   Plans are being made to have all marching band alumni march on at the Annandale 4^th of July parade, 2006.  How fun!  This is in honor of Mr. Schaefers retirement.  He has decided to find a more quiet job. 

   We are inviting all 31 years worth of band members to march together one last time, including flags, color guards, cardettes and drill team.  It will be great fun to be together to reminisce and celebrate a common adventure!  Please join us even if marching band wasnt your thing!  There will be a picnic after the parade at the school. 

   Here is what you need to know in order to make this happen.

Dates:

            May 15, 2006 NEW deadline for registration to march and order shirts

            May 15, 2006 Look for music to be sent so that you can practice.  You do remember practice dont you?

            July 3, 2006 Marching band practice at Annandale High School.  One practice should pretty much do it.  We rock!

            July 4, 2006 March in the Annandale 4^th of July parade (9:30AM at AHS)

Information:

1. You need to find an instrument to play.  Mr. Schaefer will help find an instrument if you play drums, baritone, tenor sax, French horn, or tuba.   Please be responsible to return borrowed instruments!  Of course well have flags and rifles for you color guard folks.
2. Music will be sent to you in May.  Find that fingering chart and see what you remember.  If you cant remember anything, dont worry.  Come anyway to march and fake it!
3. Shirts will be available to purchase to wear on that day.  These are red t-shirts that have Annandale Alumni Marching Band on the front and your year of graduation on the back.  Very cool!  The cost is $12.  You need to order and pay for your shirt when you register.  CLICK HERE FOR PRINTABLE REGISTRATION FORM
4. After the parade there will be a picnic for all band members whether you march or not, their families and community members.  Please bring the whole gang!  The more the merrier!

Can you imagine?  A block long band of red shirted Annandale alumni playing patriotic music.  People standing and clapping at the idea of so many folks getting together to share the joy of music one more time.  How very cool!  Mr. Schaefer would like each and every one of you to be a part of this day.  Even if you are not able to march in the parade, please join us at the picnic!

6:30 PM Color guard rehearsal in AHS gym

                 (American flag section, rifles, silks and dance line)

7:30 PM Marching practice outside

8:30 PM Pat each other on the back for being so darned talented!
