Board Meeting 
Minutes - April 16, 2011


Present:   Chair Sedey, Vice Chair Hogberg, Treasurer Arfsten, Secretary Peterson, Warner, Mader, Hable, Bayer
Not Present:   Froehlich, Lundeen

1.  Minutes of 3-12-11 Board Mt. read and approved.

2.  Treasurers Report:   $1,760 present balance.   Dues for 39 members plus donations for weed program received and will now be deposited.  An additional 16 members' dues received and will be recorded by Membership Chair Julie Sedey and then will be turned over to Treasurer Arfsten.

3.  The Triathlon Club would like a formal request for financial support.  Joe Bayer will send a request to Tri Chairman Dr. Holmberg.

4.  Wright County will be asked again to participate in our weed program.  Chair Sedey will make request.

5.  City of Annandale was asked to participate in our weed program and they responded with a $750.00 donation.

6.  Point Intercept Vegetation Survey relating to Legacy funding discussed.   Our weed program could be as high as $10,000 per year.   The survey would cost approx.  $2,200 and could be completed by Wenck Associates.  They have worked with the Clearwater Watershed District on many projects.  We hope to have Merle Anderson present at our May General Meeting and get his recommendation as to how to proceed. 

7.  The individual weed treatment and DNR full lake permit was completed with no time to spare this year.   We hope to get the dues request and treatment info out earlier next year.  We will include Lake Restoration address and phone number as well next year. 

8.  Initiative Grant which we received $2,500 approx 4 years ago will be closing its doors soon.  Private fund have dried up.  We are eligible for up to $5,000 if a grant can be submitted mapping out a plan.

9.  COLA - A new group of Wright County Lakes are trying to form  an organization similar to the one that tried when the Gravel Pit  was a hot issue.  The agenda is not clear as of this time but Joe Jacobs of the Soil and Water Dept was present and we will take our direction from him.  They are suggesting a 6 member board of directors that would make recommendation to county office holders.  The next meeting will be held at the Annandale High School on May 7.

10.  Newsletter:   Committee Chair Warner has visited with home owner and neighbor Dave Haugland who owns a printing business and he has agreed to print our newsletter.  Discussion relating to selling ads, listing donations, shirts, hats, etc. sales through Annandale Embroidery, frequency, distribution.   First edition this year should be out around the first part of May. 

11.  General Meeting set for May 21 agenda set for meeting.   Water Patrol Rep will be invited.  We could use additional members on the patrol. 

12.  Boat parade Chair Bonnie and Dean Hoglund would like help with organizing.  The parade will be held July 3, Sunday at 7 P.M.  Motion to grant $100 for prizes etc. MSP
The Royal Court, or queen candidates will be asked to judge the entries.

13.  Association sponsoring a queen candidate this year was tabled.

14.  Hwy 24 culvert update.   Water continues to drain from our lake through the CRWD drain.  The highway culvert is taking no water as of this date. Rep. Urdahl has helped us with this issue in the past and if need arises he will be asked again. 

15.Our lake loons were spotted on April 13. 

16. Next board meeting is set for June 18,  9:30 at Chair Sedey's home.
