Meeting Minutes - November 12, 2013


Co-President Cheryl Olson called the 2013 annual meeting to order at 7pm with 13 members present.

The minutes from the September 10, 2013 meeting were read with a motion to accept, MSP (Sally/Sandy).   Dean gave the Treasurer's report, $100 donation was included, thank you note sent. Report filed, subject to audit. 

Librarian Report

·         Carla thanks all the volunteers who helped with the door count in October.

·         Count Down Your Fines:  Young patrons were able to eliminate their library fines by reading at the library from Oct 14-19.  For every 15 minutes they read, their fine was reduced by $1.00.  A total of $61.00 was waived.

·         November/December Library Guide is available and includes upcoming programming.  Please note the "Bridging Cultures: Muslim Journeys, Points of View" article on page 14.

·         Connie Kuehn Memorial:  Stain Glass window should be installed in the children's area in the next two weeks.

·         Upcoming Programs;

November 16, 23, 30 and Dec 7:  9:30 - 11:30 Mahjong Classes

November 19:  10 am Thanksgiving Story Time

December 2:   1:00 pm Andrew Walesch Concert at the History Club Meeting

January 11 & 18:  9:30 - 11:30 Coil Basket Weaving Class

Dec 7:  St Cloud Symphony Orchestra presents The Polar Express

Jan 11:  The Wizard of Oz      

Feb 1 and 9:  To Kill a Mockingbird

Feb 8:  Dr Suess's Cat In The Hat

*Check the Events Calendar, Legacy for information>  Call any GR library to register.

·         Winter Reading Program:  Make Tracks to Your Library:  Jan 2 - Feb 22.  In addition to                        GRRL's prizes, the FOL will donate an Android tablet.

·         Tax Forms:  No longer available at the library, check Post Office or local tax office.
