Annandale's library currently has more than 14,000 books and other items with access to many more through its affiliation with the Great River Regional Library. GRRL patrons with library cards may request materials to be delivered to Annandale's library from any of the 31 branch libraries of GRRL. To apply for a library card, just present identification with current address information.

The original Annandale Library opened its doors on Main Street in 1900 with 317 books provided by the charter members of the Annandale Improvement Club. In 1922 the library moved to a building that was previously used as a school where it served the community for over 80 years until moving into the NEW Annandale Area Public Library on June 7, 2003. The Annandale Area Public Library serves roughly 9,300 patrons, and Annandale's circulation reached 57, 737 in 2013.
